Being part of LVNDR means something very special – it means you were chosen by every individual that you interviewed with. It means that every team member you came in contact with gave their sign off, and believes you embody the same values that are important to our team.

We believe everyone should have ownership over their part of LVNDR – self-managing, setting up processes, driving growth, and setting yourself (and LVNDR) up for success in the years to come. We believe that you should be given autonomy to make decisions on how you want to run your vertical. We give responsibility, but in return we expect excellent performance. We thought it would be helpful to put these values on paper and spell them out more clearly:

<aside> ♥️ Being a team player is incredibly important, as the success of LVNDR is not determined by individuals working on their own. Putting the team first whenever possible – whether it’s holding a door, sitting in on a strategy session, or making time to help and share knowledge goes a long way to building strong bonds between team members. We strive to be egoless when making decisions and to optimise for the best outcomes, not for being right.

2. Empathy

<aside> 👂 Often, our team will reach decisions via debate. Seemingly conflicting opinions, and individuals will momentarily clash; however, you must always remember that the goal is not to make your opinion chosen. The goal is to reach the best solution to solve the problem being discussed. This solution is usually reached through open discussion, and is rarely (if ever), an individual team member’s original opinion, idea, or perspective.

3. Creativity

<aside> 🎨 We are working to disrupt an industry which we believe will one day impact every individual’s life in a meaningful way. Maintaining a creative environment, finding creative thinkers, and fostering creativity is essential to LVNDR's long term success. Never be afraid to bring up a new idea or challenge the way things are currently done.

4. Focus

<aside> 🎯 One of the aspects that drives our growth and efficiency at LVNDR is the ability to diligently focus and ruthlessly prioritise. This requires the ability to identify and execute on your highest leverage activity. You will find very quickly that there is no end to your to do list and so you will need to get good at knowing what to drop, what to postpone, and what to prioritise. There is never enough time for everything, and compromising quality is never the answer. In the end it comes down to strategic focus.

5. Ownership

<aside> 🔑 When bringing on new team members, one of our mantras is to hire people better than ourselves. People who will bring up the average energy in the office, and have a positive impact on our company and our culture. We believe in you, your personality, and your competency. This is not a company that you work at, this is your company. You are a critical organ in this living system and everyone else is relying on you to survive. Autonomy is earned easily at LVNDR and comes with the requirement that you take ownership for your role. Own it holistically and completely – become the master and show your peers that they do not need to think twice about something that falls in your domain. One of our core beliefs is “a compelling proposal with strong justification leads to a decision” and of course this holds true regardless of who the proposal is coming from.

6. Transparency and Honesty

<aside> 💭 The easy thing to say and the right thing to say are not always closely related. If there’s an issue you see within LVNDR, or if something isn’t going right… please say something. Transparency and Honesty are two things that will always guide our company’s decision making and how we handle ourselves as people. We ask that you adopt this mentality, as we know that while it may bring about some uncomfortable moments, we will all become stronger in the long run.

7. Fairness

<aside> 🛠 We believe that treating people (both internally and externally) well has the best net outcome in the long run. When making decisions we always try to put ourselves in the shoes of others, consider all stakeholders, and work towards solutions that we believe are fair.

8. Growth and Alignment

<aside> 🌱 As a start-up working to disrupt an industry, we work extremely hard to break down barriers, slash risk, and charge ahead as quickly as we can. We believe that the best motivation to be a powerful contributor to the team should come from an alignment between where you want to go in life and where LVNDR is going. It should also come from a drive to contribute to the powerful impact that LVNDR will have as we work to achieve our long term vision. LVNDR should be a vehicle to allow you to grow and learn as we all navigate the journey of our careers. It is all of our responsibilities to ensure you are challenged, and developing skills in areas you want to grow. We care so much about this that you will be critically assessed on this during formal reviews.
